Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 June 2026

These Terms govern your use of Autherly (“the service”), an academic writing tool operated by an independent individual. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Autherly.

What Autherly does

Autherly helps you draft academic medical manuscripts from structured intake details and attempts to attach citations verified against external databases. It is a writing aid. It does not provide medical advice, and it does not guarantee publication, acceptance by any journal, or the scientific accuracy of generated content.

Your account

  • You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Enter identifiable patient information or other personal data about third parties — you must de-identify all clinical content before input.
  • Submit unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or its rate limits.
  • Resell or redistribute the service without permission.
  • Use the output in a way that misrepresents AI-assisted text as independently verified work, or that breaches the authorship and integrity policies of your target journal.

Your content and authorship

You retain ownership of the intake details you provide and the drafts you produce. You are solely responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, and verifying every claim and citation before relying on or submitting any output. You are responsible for complying with the authorship, disclosure, and AI-use policies of any journal you submit to.

Subscriptions and billing

  • Paid plans are billed through Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record, in USD.
  • Plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • Plan limits (monthly drafts and conversions) are described in the app and may change with notice.
  • Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that generated text or citations are accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Autherly and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of generated content — including citation errors, rejected submissions, or academic-integrity findings. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the three months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to the service or other users.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
